Shard looked directly up at the camera, into the eyes of the world –
“Religious people, even spiritual beings, were tolerated then as they are now. But in certain places on the planet, there was, and still is, one golden rule – toe the line, or die.
“In the end, everyone had to watch in silence as they led him away – a man many generations ahead of time.”
Shard paused for a moment –
“Out of this story came two things, both equally important.
“First we have the legend of Jesus – the greatest legend of all.
“Clearly Jesus has emerged through the percolations of time as the Champion of all Champions – the First and the Last.”
A murmur of jubilation filled the courtyard – everyone agrees.
“Like many legends, his story ended in tragedy.
“But the great tragedy of Jesus is not the obvious one that he was killed on the Cross. No – the real tragedy – the hidden tragedy in the life of Jesus is the silently resounding fact that nobody has ever listened to his record.
“The tragedy is that humanity conveniently and consistently overlooked the fact that he was, and still is, a spiritual evolutionary.
“In truth, the Churches were afraid of Jesus.
“In truth, they still are.
“Committed to self-preservation – the Churches have buried his message in a mass of dogma and continued to defer to the same old line that has always, effectively, censored truth on this planet.
“In truth, the speech that Jesus eventually had to make in order to complete his mission- the speech which contains a perfectly crisp, succinct record of his philosophy – has never been mentioned by the Churches.
“Never, in the long story of time on earth, has this record ever been held up in the spotlight of humanity and calmly considered for the brilliant challenge it presents.
“Put simply, the record of Jesus has never been played.”
Even from across the courtyard the P.M. could feel the power in the old man’s eyes as they swept across the sea of sadhus –
“One day – soon – it will become apparent to humanity that equally as important as the legend of Jesus, is the recorded speech he made for posterity – that one short speech with the power to change the world.”
Shard looked up again toward the camera.
“Interestingly, amazingly, staggeringly to me when I consider the harshness of history and the devastating destruction of time, this speech still exists in its original, untarnished form – still perfectly pristine.
