Alone again, the President flicked through the pile of messages on his desk –

“Willis (urgent – been calling all day).”

“Crump (wants “some kind of meeting”).”

“Shrepnez…”

“Zhang Wei… “

“Hermanstadt…”

Finally he found what he was looking for – the draft memorandum from a group he’d never heard of, calling itself – “The New World Organization of Muslim Leaders.”

He read it again –

“We urge our followers to forgive all past mistakes.

“We urge them to prepare in silent prayer for the Last Day.”

As he studied the document in depth he saw it was, more or less, a draft agreement between the two great religions.

“Muslims,” it concluded, “accept that we need the power of all faiths to successfully attract God to earth.”

The President searched through the remaining list of messages. To his amazement there was still no word from any of the Christian Churches, let alone a whisper from the one man in the world whose opinion he was actually interested in.

Surely they can’t still be deciding whether to go with it not!

What on earth is he waiting for?
