“So Hunter…” John said, looking at his friend quizzically, “what do you make of that?”

“I’m not sure,” the President said, his nerves still tingling.

“Well it seems to me they’ve sent out a naïve prospector, with no map, no idea and not much hope and… he’s struck gold!”

The President laughed –

“You could see it that way,” he said. “But you never know, it could all have been scripted in advance. After all, it was his voice – deeper and more powerful I grant you, but definitely his voice. If they can put a camera in someone’s eye they easily can give them a script in advance.”

“I think the guy is genuine.”

They replayed the end of the film, examining the moment when Max had finally spoken, looking for some flaw or hesitation.

“I think it’s pretty clear what happened,” John said eventually, “I think those words are prophetic.”

“They were powerful, that’s for sure. But wouldn’t it be naïve to accept them without question? I’m certainly not going to jump up and tell the world I’m convinced something major has happened… just on the back of that film.”

“Well, we’ve got another one here… let’s look at that.”
