In the Regeneration - the man-made messiah

Chapter April 5, 2012

“And so at last, a long awaited, bright star from the east has come along to help us to review our priorities in life.”

The P.M. was not pleased that Shard was putting this on record now – even if only in a film for the future. He’d always understood that Max would be introduced much later. To do it now, like this, just didn’t make sense.

And as for likening Max to Jesus! People will be appalled!

It’s just not appropriate! Not at any time – ever. But to do it now – to put this pretender up before he’s even done anything?

Although he was not happy about it, the P.M. wasn’t altogether surprised. After all – wasn’t this the problem with Shard and, for that matter, every sadhu he’d ever met? Unfortunately, with these people there was no such thing as a plan. Sure – they seemed happy enough to follow an idea to a conclusion, but along the way everything was always fluid and unsure. Only the beginning and the end were certain with someone like Shard. They just seemed to forge ahead and take the risk as it appeared, regardless of the possible consequences – they had absolutely no fear.

Shard continued –

“Our young man, Max, has been in India less than 24 hours.

“And yes, he comes, as predicted, from the East – from Australia – east even of east. So far east it is generally considered west.”

Shard chuckled at his little joke.

“Please, do not misunderstand.

“Jesus was a great man from birth – a born champion.

“Max is no Jesus. Max is nothing more than an example of how an ordinary human being can rise to a great occasion when, and if, called upon to do so.

“Hopefully he’ll provide the spark we’ve all been waiting for.”
