In the Regeneration - the man-made messiah

Chapter June 7, 2012

The President sat in silence, staring at Marlon –

“Why is it that I find that so difficult to accept?”

“And, of course… report on progress.”

“Who’s progress – theirs or ours? Because we can’t progress can we? Because you’re telling me you have no instructions to progress, is that right?”

“Are you sure about that?”

“As I say – we are simply… watching.”

“And that’s the full extent of it – is it?”

“That’s right.”

The President checked his watch –

“Are you sure you have no instruction to simply wade in regardless – like the great purple-heart that you are?”

“No sir – not at all!”

“And do something stupid?”

“Definitely not sir!”

The Committee didn’t tell you to do anything stupid.

Eliminating a threat to the money system isn’t stupid!

“So… you are only there to watch.”

“That’s it.”

The President’s eyes narrowed –

“Mr Sands, would you swear on your purple heart that they have not issued you with an order to kill?”

Marlon didn’t hesitate –

“I would,” he said, thumping his heart.

The President reached down into his desk and he took out a book from the drawer.

He’s going to make you swear on the Bible!

“Do it,” he said, handing the book to Marlon.

Marlon was an accomplished liar but even he was aware of the tremor in his hand as he held up the well worn book.

“I swear I have no order to kill.”

“On your purple heart?”

“On my purple heart.”

Too bad pal – you didn’t look hard enough – you didn’t see the other one.

The President rose from his seat –

“I’m going to let you go now, Mr Sands. But if and when your instructions from the Committee change – and I think you know exactly what I mean by that – if and when this happens I want you to contact me immediately.”

The President handed Marlon a card and indicated the door.

“Goodbye Mr Sands.”
